Joe is a Partner in the law firm of White Harris PLLC. White Harris practices exclusively in one area of the law: employment law, representing businesses. Half of Joe’s practice is litigation: defending businesses when they are sued for violating employment laws. The other half of Joe’s practices focuses on prevention: working with business to proactively reduce their risk of employment lawsuits and employment-related government actions.
In addition to practicing employment law, Joe has also presented many continuing legal education courses for attorneys, as well as workshops and seminars for corporate executives and human resource professionals, on a variety of employment law topics. Lisa Brauner, an employer-side employment attorney, advises and represents employers on a variety of workplace law-related matters, including wage and hour compliance, Department of Labor audits, proper worker classification (employee vs. independent contractor/exempt vs. nonexempt employee), preventing workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation, enforceability of restrictive covenants (non-competes, non-solicitation provisions), and litigation avoidance.
Ms. Brauner conducts:
–employment law compliance audits for employers to ensure compliance with federal, State and local employment laws;
