Lisa Brauner, an employer-side employment attorney, advises and represents employers on a variety of workplace law-related matters, including wage and hour compliance, Department of Labor audits, proper worker classification (employee vs. independent contractor/exempt vs. nonexempt employee), preventing workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation, enforceability of restrictive covenants (non-competes, non-solicitation provisions), and litigation avoidance.
Ms. Brauner conducts:
–employment law compliance audits for employers to ensure compliance with federal, State and local employment laws;
–workplace law-related trainings for managers and employees on preventing unlawful discrimination, sexual and other harassment, retaliation; wage/hour compliance; preventing workplace violence; performance management and other workplace law-related topics; and
– internal investigations of complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
Ms. Brauner has extensive experience preparing employment agreements, non-compete/non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, severance agreements, employee handbooks and policies, and related documents. She also conducts investigations of complaints of discrimination and responds to charges of discrimination filed with the EEOC and other government agencies as well as providing human resources consulting services.
