Richard B. Friedman is the Managing Attorney of Richard Friedman PLLC. Mr. Friedman is a former AMLAW 100 employment and business litigation partner. He and his four Of Counsel lawyers represent management and individuals aligned with management in employment litigations such as those involving:
- Covenants not to compete
- Breaches of fiduciary duties
- Theft of trade secrets
- Discrimination and harassment claims
- Wrongful termination claims
- Retaliation claims
- Underpayment of wages
- Failure to pay overtime
The firm also regularly counsels companies as well as executives in transition on a wide range of employment-related matters such as the negotiation and preparation of employment agreements, consulting agreements, and severance agreements.
Also widely recognized for his business litigation and trial successes, Mr. Friedman is one of fifteen litigators who serve as judicial appointees to the Advisory Committee to the New York County Commercial Division along with the nine judges of that court. Mr. Friedman works with clients in various industries to tailor business litigation strategies that fit their specific objectives. He recognizes that, because none of their clients are in the “business of litigation,” a winning strategy often does not mean “winning” at all costs. However, Mr. Friedman and his colleagues have taken cases to trial with excellent results when clients were not able to obtain satisfactory settlements or prevail on motion practice.
Mr. Friedman has appeared as a legal commentator on CNN, Fox News, and Fox Business.
